Groupon completes buyout of Ticket Monster

Groupon has completed the acquisition of Korean e-commerce company Ticket Monster for $260 million.

The Ticket Monster brand and leadership team will remain in place, including CEO Daniel Shin. The company will maintain its headquarters in Seoul, where it employs approximately 1000.

Ticket Monster – known locally as TMON – was founded in 2010 and has quickly grown into a leading provider of product, local and travel offers in Korea.

On November 7, Groupon acquired LivingSocial Korea, the holding company that owned Ticket Monster. LivingSocial Korea’s Malaysian subsidiary was divested prior to close and is not part of the transaction.
