Google’s Shoppable Hangout expands to India

Search engine Google has partnered with Myntra.com and Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan to launch Shoppable Hangout in India.

Google+ Shoppable Hangout On Air brings together social media and online shopping, enabling up to 10 people to interact with each other on a multi-person video chat that is broadcast live to millions around the web, while also allowing all the viewers to simultaneously shop, chat and comment.

Designers or retailers can publicly broadcast a multi-person video chat about their products while customers simultaneously browse a curated selection of products available for purchase online, exclusively through the HOA.

The Shoppable Hangout will provide users with a brand new online shopping experience which will be like shopping Hrithik’s clothing line with him at your side, except from participants’ living rooms. Participants can browse to shop a curated assortment of products from the newly launched collection hosted on Myntra.com.

“Marrying the power of technology, social media and e-commerce will provide our customers a novel, more personal and interactive way to shop online on Myntra.com,” said Myntra CMO Vikas Ahuja.

“With the e-commerce market in India growing at an unprecedented rate, we will be providing a unique shopping experience to the Indian shopper through a Google+ hangout,” adds Nitin Bawankule, industry director, Google India.
