Mitra Adiperkasa plans massive expansion

Indonesian retailer Mitra Adiperkasa is to massively expand its footprint with 250 new stores planned this year.

Mitra Adiperkasa says the expansion plan will cost 600 billion Indonesian rupees ($49 million).

The company now has 1710 stores across Indonesia, having added 327 new stores last year.

It also plans to expand its portfolio of brands by bringing more to the Indonesian market, to complement its existing portfolio, which includes Galeries Lafayette, Zara Home, Starbucks, Debenhams, Cotton On and Swarovski.

This year, revenue is expected to increase by 15 to 18 per cent.
