Droog opens Hong Kong store

Dutch design company Droog has opened a new Hong Kong store, in the heart of Soho.

Droog offers a selection of accessories, lighting, furniture and studio design work.

Founded in 1993 by design historian Renny Ramakers and industrial designer Gijs Bakker, Droog is famous for its “eclectic and eccentric” designs.

The company has taken the entire building, from ground floor to the rooftop terrace. Besides the store, Droog Hong Kong offers a gallery, dining room, outdoor kitchen and rooftop terrace.

The company says it will introduce one product every two weeks, and each item is limited to 100 pieces. All the items are based on the process of upcycling.

“My wish is to create all kinds of hospitality experiences that are different everywhere. When we do something, we do it with our own attitude, our twist, but we try to respect the place where we are doing it,” said Ramakers.
