Starbucks Malaysia to enter Brunei

Berjaya Starbucks Coffee, the operator of Starbucks in Malaysia, plans to expand into Brunei.

The first cafe in Brunei will open next month and a second one six weeks later.

“We have coffee lovers crossing over to Miri to patronise our two outlets there. As location is of prime importance, the areas selected have very high traffic volumes as in the case of most of our outlets in West and East Malaysia,” said MD Sydney Quays.

Starbucks has 160 outlets in Malaysia since its first opening in 1998. The company’s revenue stood at 235 million ringgit ($70.5 million) last year.
