Jeweller Clogau Gold plans to expand further in China with long term plan of 20 stores.

Clogau Gold currently has two stores in Beijing and Shenzhen. It says it will increase it to five over the next 12 months and 20 in the long term.

“This is such a fast growing market that you cannot ignore it. There are so many people there with wealth and they aspire to the same things that we have here,” said MD Ben Roberts.

“We hope that over the next year we will have five stores with Shanghai the next target, it is just finding the right location, which obviously is more of a challenge when it is thousands of miles away and you don’t have that local knowledge. We are hopeful over five years this figure will rise to 20,” he said.

Clogau Gold has more than 20 years of manufacturing and retailing watches and jewellery.
