More British brands plan Philippine foray

This year will see between two and four British fashion brands entering the Philippines.

That’s according to United Kingdom Trade and Investment director Iain Mansfield, who says the brands are eyeing partnerships with local companies.

He said the Filipinos’ love of dressing and looking good is attracting fashion brands to expand into the market. Also, the country’s growing economy is driving spending, making the country an attractive market for foreign brands.

“The trends continue to go in the right direction. The investment climate here seems to be improving,” said Mansfield.

Just recently, British clothing brand F&F, owned by Tesco, has made its first entry into the Philippines, opening its first three stores there, in partnership with Stores Specialist Incorporated.
