Old Navy counts down in Philippines

US clothing brand Old Navy plans to open its first two stores in the Philippines in March.

Local partner Casual Clothing Specialists, a subsidiary of Stores Specialists Incorporated (SSI), will open the first two Old Navy stores at Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City and Glorietta 3 in Makati City.

SSI also franchises Gap Incorporated’s brands Gap and Banana Republic.

“We’re thrilled to be the first franchisee for Old Navy and help introduce one of the largest apparel brands to consumers in the Philippines,” said Anthony Huang, EVP of SSI.

“As the country’s retail market continues to grow, we look forward to sharing our local expertise with Gap Incorporated to help the company grow its presence.”

Old Navy, which currently operates over 1000 stores in the US, Canada and Japan, also plans to open stores in China in the first half of 2014.
