Michael Kors opens China flagship

American fashion brand Michael Kors has opened a new flagship in China.

Sprawling across 6000 sqft, the store at Jing An Kerry Centre in Shanghai, is the brand’s largest in mainland. Its two-storey facade is inspired by Michael Kors’ signature use of metallics and texture.

“It’s an incredible store for an incredible city. We wanted to design something that is sophisticated, glamorous, and modern a fabulous shopping environment for the stylish, fashion-forward Chinese customer,” said Michael Kors.

The interior includes a 30-foot-high mirrored wall, a framed giant video screen, polished stainless steel fixtures and zebra-skin accents.

The flagship houses a women’s shoe salon, a dedicated men’s accessory presentation and two side-by-side women’s ready-to-wear shops (one for Michael Kors Collection and the other for Michael Michael Kors). It also offers jewellery, watches and eyewear.

“Our new flagship at Jing An Kerry Centre is not only the largest Michael Kors store in China but it also features an innovative, dynamic façade design that highlights the significance of this store,” said CEO John Idol.
