New Look debuts in China

British retailer New Look has opened its first two stores in China.

Branded as New Look London to showcase its British heritage, the stores are located in Beijing’s Glory Mall and Shanghai’s Cloud 9 shopping mall.

They feature fitting rooms equipped with “magic mirrors”, which allow customers to create a custom look and take a photo of their favourite outfits and share on social media websites.

New Look has launched Weibo and WeChat campaigns to promote awareness among Chinese consumers. It also launched a dedicated online website www.newlook.cn to reach shoppers at home.

The company, led by CEO Anders Kristiansen, plans to open 20 stores across China by 2015.

Having opened its first store in 1969, New Look now has 600 UK and 200 international stores.
