Ihop Philippines to expand

Philippine company Global Restaurant Concepts is allocating 500 million pesos ($11.23 million) to expand the Ihop chain this year.

GRC and the US restaurant chain specialising in pancakes and breakfast food Ihop partnered in March 2013 to expand into the Philippines, where it now has three outlets.

The capex is aimed at ramping up Ihop’s presence to 12 by the end of the year.

The partners aim to have 20 outlets in the Philippines, all in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, within five years.

Global Restaurant Concepts has a portfolio of restaurant brands including PF Chang, Morelli’s Gelato, Gyu-Kaku and Mad for Garlic.
