Indian kidswear chain plans massive expansion

Indian kidswear retailer Toonz Retail plans to add 100 new stores by the next fiscal year.

The retailer offers apparels,the major contributor for its revenue, as well as baby gears, toys and games through 45 stores currently.

The company also plans to launch new brands WowMom and SuperYoung by opening at multibrand stores, large format lifestyle stores and exclusive brand stores.

“We would keep expanding in the Northern and Southern parts of the India,” said Toonz Retail MD and CEO Sharad Venkta. “We have a sincere belief that this particular segment has lot of potential.”

It expects to achieve a turnover of Rs100 crore ($16 million) by the end of financial year 2015-16.
