Luxury shoe designer Stuart Weitzman has partnered with architect Zaha Hadid to open a flagship store in Hong Kong.
The store is located at International Financial Centre Mall and adds to its existing stores at Lane Crawford and in Kowloon.
Hadid designed the store like a museum with warm colours, futuristic curves and seating that allows shoppers to sit within the architecture and amongst the shoes.
“The collaboration continues to be a major company retail initiative to strengthen our presence in Asia and expansion worldwide,” said executive chairman Stuart Weitzman. “Hong Kong’s IFC mall is the perfect global platform to offer the uniqueness of Zaha Hadid’s design as a showcase for our label.”
CEO Wayne Kulkin said the IFC location is the perfect global platform. The mall is considered one of the premiere shopping malls in the world that reaches not only Hong Kong and China residents, but has traffic from across the globe, he said.
Stuart Weitzman plans to further expand in Asia to grow its market share there to 40 per cent over the next three years from 25 per cent currently. Store openings are planned for Beijing, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia and the Philippines.
