Luxury brands expand Korean presence

British luxury brand Burberry and Italian Brunello Cucinelli are to open flagship stores in South Korea’s capital city.

The stores are scheduled to open by summer in Seoul’s luxury high street Chungdam Dong Gangnam-Ku, also home to other foreign luxury brands including Givenchy, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana.

Burberry and Brunello Cucinelli’s stores will span three and five floors, offering both brands’ full product categories.

The openings demonstrate its confidence in the South Korean market despite the slower growth registered by luxury retailers in 2013 there.
