Courts Malaysia plans expansion

Courts plans to grow its footprint in Malaysia by 10 per cent, opening six new stores this year.

Last year, the retailer opened two big box mega stores and four small format stores, taking its count to 64.

Courts Malaysia CEO Allard Sjollema said the company is committed to further developing and growing the store portfolio in both west and east Malaysia despite the challenging short term macro economic environment.

“We are looking for the sites to open these stores, but we are definitely going to open stores in Sabah and the Klang Valley,” he said.

Courts, which retails electrical, IT and furniture, expanded its offering to include motorcycles.

It is slated to launch a new retail concept called World of Wellness to offer health and fitness products in Sri Damansara Mega store in May.
