Daiso to open more Macau stores

Japanese value store Daiso, through its local operator Sun Star Trading, is to open four new stores in Macau over the next three years.

The company has earmarked $2.5 million to open new stores, adding to its existing five there since 2005.

Chris Pang, operations manager of Sun Star Trading, says they’re bullish because of the high influx of visitors and strong local consumption power.

Launched in December 1977 by president Hirotake Yano, Daiso offers products ranging from crockery to cosmetics for women, gardening tools to DIY items for men, toys to stationery for kids. The product range at Daiso is focused across various product categories that add value to the customer’s shopping basket.

Daiso has over 2570 stores in Japan and more than 560 overseas stores, including 25 stores in Hong Kong.
