Mr Jones’ Orphanage heads offshore

Pastry franchise Mr Jones’ Orphanage is slated to open its first Japan location in July.

Parent company Evolution Capital of Thailand has partnered with Q’s Dining Inc to take Mr. Jones’ Orphanage to Japan.

The first outlet will span 150 sqm and is planned for Sapporo, with an additional 13 opening over the next three years.

The Japanese expansion is just the beginning of a continuous overseas expansion, says Evolution Capital, which plans to expand to markets including Hong Kong, Dubai and Malaysia.

“With the commitment of our potential franchisees, we plan to open about four Mr. Jones’ Orphanage franchised bakery restaurants in Hong Kong within the first 12 months. We will also open four to six restaurants in Dubai in the first year and another three to four restaurants in Malaysia,” said Krit Srichawla, chairman of Evolution Capital.

Domestically, the company plans to open 30-40 Mr Jones’ Orphanage outlets from next year.
