Peak Performance in bold Japan move

Scandinavian sportswear brand Peak Performance has opened its first freestanding store in Japan.

The custom made interior in wood, steel and concrete “lives and breathes Scandinavia” on the 140 sqm first floor of the Takashimaya shopping centre, one of Tokyo’s most prestigious shopping destinations. It is filled with high performing ski, outdoor and urban sportswear.

Peak Performance entered Japan five years ago, through an exclusive partner, running shops-in-shops.

“Our heritage, combining performance and quality, attracted the Japanese innovation savvy consumer from the start and we are very happy to present our entire range of our products in one spot,” says Martin Netinder, sales director, emerging markets, Peak Performance.

”The flagship store in Tokyo will make a footprint in Japan, but will also support our Asian focus, assisting the stores we operate with our Chinese/Hong Kong partner in Beijing and Hong Kong,” adds Netinder.
