Philippines lures foreign brands

The Philippines’ strong economy is drawing an increasing number of foreign brands into the country.

According to the Philippine Franchising Association (PFA), around 60 foreign brands are planning to open in the Philippines through the franchise route.

“The Philippines remains one of the top three franchising sites in the world,” PFA chairman emeritus Samie Lim said.

Lim says most of the 60 brands, including 12 each from the US, Indonesia and Malaysia and two from the UK have confirmed to attend the franchise expo on July 16 to 20.

The Franchise Asia Philippines 2014 International Franchise Expo to be held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City will discuss how the franchise sector can prepare for the 2015 Asean integration.
