Indonesian mobile retailer expands abroad

Indonesian mobile phone retailer Erajaya Swasembada is setting its sights offshore for growth.

Its first move is the near-complete acquisition of Malaysian electronic devices reseller CG Computers.

Erajaya is paying 14 million ringgit ($4.4 million) to acquire 60 per cent of CG Computers, which runs 23 Switch stores and is an authorised Apple reseller domestically.

“We are also hoping to work with Erajaya to bring in the Android Nation retail stores, which carry Android-based devices,” said CG Computers co-founder and director Li Chau Ging.

The acquisition is expected to be complete by August.
