Magnolia Bakery plans Asian expansion

Thai company Evolution Capital plans a pan Asian expansion for its Magnolia Bakery brand.

Evolution Capital, Magnolia Bakery’s master franchisee for Asia, has recently introduced the brand to the Japanese market, through sub franchisee Sweetstar, a subsidiary of Q’s Dining, which it owns 35 per cent.

According to Simon Gerovich, director of Evolution Capital, the long daily queues at the first outlet in Omotesando demonstrates that Magnolia Bakery resonates well with the Japanese consumer.

They’re planning to set up 10 Magnolia Bakery stores in Japan in five years.

Bullish about its prospects not only in Japan, Evolution Capital plans to expand the American concept in Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Thailand.
