Victoria’s Secret in China expansion
American retailer Victoria’s Secret plans to test the water in China by opening smaller outlets later this year.
Parent company L Brands says it sees vast opportunity in China hence the plan to open traditional, full stores by 2015 or 2016.
Victoria’s Secret targets to expand its network by 70 stores by the year’s end, nine of which will be in China.
L Brands international president Martin Waters says they will continue expanding in the years to come by adding 100 to 125 shops a year.
“We think that’s a good clip, about two stores a week,” he said.
