Johnnie Walker Houses open in India, Taiwan

Diageo Global Travel is expanding the network of Johnnie Walker House in Asia.

Following the success of the Johnnie Walker Houses in Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul, Diageo Global Travel is taking the concept to Mumbai, India and Taipei, Taiwan.

The Johnnie Walker House Mumbai, in collaboration with DFS Group and Flemingo International, opened its doors on September 2 at Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. To celebrate the opening, an exclusive Johnnie Walker House Art Collection – Mumbai Edition – has been created, an interpretation of the original Johnnie Walker journey from Scotland to India in 1883 and reflects the brand’s long heritage as one of the world’s first international brands.

The Johnnie Walker House Taipei, opening later this month, will be located in the departures concourse immediately after immigration at Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport. Diageo Global Travel has collaborated with Everrich Duty Free to open the house.

Travellers can fully immerse themselves in the history of Johnnie Walker and its famous liquors through a number of wall installations; and brand ambassadors will invite them on a sensorial journey to touch, taste and smell the rare elements that make up Johnnie Walker.

Both Mumbai and Taipei airports are key travel hubs, handling a combined 63 million passengers a year which make them perfect locations for Johnnie Walker Houses, says Doug Bagley, MD, Diageo global travel and Middle East.
