Marc O’Polo debuts in China

German clothing brand Marc O’Polo has teamed up with Zhejiang Semir Garment Co to expand into China.

The partners opened the first Marc O’Polo store in Shanghai’s Global Harbor Mall. The 250sqm shop offers casual womenswear and menswear collections, shoes and accessories.

Alexander Gedat, CEO Marc O’Polo, described the pilot city as not only the financial center of China, but also the gateway to the rest of the country.

“While we gain important experience through this store regarding the right range of products, preferred colors or cuts, we can also benefit from the uplifting power of the market growth in order to continue our expansion plans in the rest of the country,” he said.

The company plans further China expansion later this year as it refines its offer.
