Australian retailer of outdoor, sports and fitness goods, Auzzie Outdoors, is opening its first physical store in China.

The store, to be located in Shanghai, will offer products for travel, running, aquatics, camping, hiking, yoga, racket sports and skiing, among other sports.

Auzzie Outdoors, owned by Super Retail Group, entered China a year ago with an online store. It says the offline store aims to provide greater interaction and engagement with customers.

It will be operated by local partner SRG Trading which also brought Australian brands including Arctics Star to China.

Wu Donghua, GM of SRG Trading, China e-commerce, is optimistic about Auzzie Outdoors’ potential, saying more Chinese people are realising the importance of taking up sports and pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
