PastaMania hits Malaysia

Singaporean-based Italian style restaurant chain PastaMania has opened its first unit in Malaysia.

The new PastaMania full-serve restaurant is located at the Gateway, Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2). It is run by franchise partner, Malaysia Airports.

PastaMania is Halal certified and offers an extensive pasta menu including chunky minced beef bolognese, prawn aglio, bacon cheesy crumble, and more.

The restaurant is designed in accordance to the Italian piazza concept, which means ‘City Square’ where the bustle of public life takes place. Customers can find the typical Italian news stand (Edicola), the neighbourhood pasta shop (Negozio Della Pasta), grocery store (Alimentari) and traditional Italian bakery (Panificio Da Ugo) settings in the restaurant.

Airport management plans to open a second location in the main terminal in the second quarter of 2015.

“Together with our growth-ready franchise partners, we will continue to rapidly expand the PastaMania brand and enter new emerging markets around the world,” said Wilson Lim, executive director, international business, PastaMania.
