Parkson to open Cambodia Mall
Pan Asian retailer Parkson is expanding into Cambodia.
Parkson is to open a shopping mall in the country’s capital city at Russian Boulevard in Daun Penh District in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The new 70,200 sqm development will be anchored by a department store. It will also include a 3100 sqm basement supermarket, a 6200 sqm electronic mall, 9300 sqm IT mall and a 10-screen multiplex cinema with a 32-lane bowling alley.
The shopping centre has easy access from central and the emerging financial districts, tourist attractions, BKK, the Riverside and the airport as well as the rapidly developing residential hubs such as Tuol Kork.
There will be parking above and below ground for some 1500 cars and 1400 motorbikes.
Parkson has signed CB Richard Ellis Cambodia, which inaugurated its retail services business line in June 2014, as its exclusive leasing agent for the development.
“It is a great privilege to be in a strategic partnership with the leading retail developer of the region. We have had an overwhelmingly positive initial response from the retailers and registered nearly 200 enquiries even before the official announcement. All units expected to be pre-leased by end of February, 2015,” said Laszlo Fulop, senior retail consultant and head of leasing at CBRE Cambodia.
The Parkson Phnom Penh City Center will also include a 400+ room hotel on top of a podium, scheduled for completion by the end of 2017.
Parkson has confirmed two additional projects in Phnom Penh.
With 141 stores, 39 of them in Malaysia, 58 in China, nine in Vietnam, 14 in Indonesia and one in Myanmar, Parkson plans to continue expanding in new and existing markets.
