UK designer heads to Hong Kong

Jenny Packham, the exclusive London fashion designer, is set to open a flagship store in Hong Kong, according to unconfirmed media reports.

UK retail news site My Retail Media reports the store will open in Central. It quotes the brand’s CEO Matthew Anderson saying Asia has been a major market for Jenny Packham across all categories for 10 years or more.

“Brand awareness is high and there is a desire for the product. (We will) build the brand across Asia through a focused marketing and PR campaign and….a targeted VIP dressing program.”

Packham, 49, is best known for her bridal designs and evening wear collections. Her more famous clients include Miley Cyrus, Kate Hudson, the Duchess of Camrbidge and Angelina Jolie.

My Retail Media reports the store will be 860sqm and be decorated in a “minimal and modern” style.

The retailer has engaged architects Peter Kirkness and Winnie Cheng to work on the store’s look.

The website says the store will open early next month and stock Packham’s full range of bridal and evening-wear.
