Two new hypermarkets open in Indonesia

PT Matahari Putra Prima has opened two more new hypermarkets in Indonesia, making three within a week.

The multi-format retailer which operates Hypermart, Foodmart and Boston Health & Beauty retail formats, opened its 107th  Hypermart at Bekasi Trade Center City, a business center located in East Bekasi. This is its fifth Hypermart in Bekasi.

Danny Kojongian, director of communications and PR said the opening in Bekasi is in line with MPPA’s expansion to address the changing needs of customers and “provide an exciting new shopping experience”.

The 106th Hypermart opened a day earlier at Lippo Mall Kupang, a national scale integrated shopping center. This is the second Hypermart located in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Kojongian said the opening of a second outlet in Kupang reflected PT’s commitment to expand throughout East Indonesia.

“In addition, the economic prospects of Kupang with surrounding regencies support a need for expansion of retail to provide convenience, value and an expanded product selection.”
