Kikki.k to launch in Hong Kong

Australian fashion stationer kikki.K will open its first store in Hong Kong in April.

The Hong Kong foray follows a successful launch in Singapore, where kikki.K has a flagship in the Ion Orchard shopping centre on Orchard Rd.

This month, the retailer was named the seventh Best Workplace in Asia for 2015. The Best Workplaces in Asia list recognises organisations in the Asia region that prioritise putting their people first, and are committed to providing strong, caring, and innovative cultures.

The new Hong Kong store will open inside the Harbour City Shopping Mall. Founder Kristina Karlsson says her dream was always to open kikki.K stores in her favourite cities all over the world, and come April she will get to tick another off that list.

“Hong Kong has always been such an inspiring city for me and I can’t wait to share the Swedish design and stationery love with even more people across Asia,” Karlsson said.

Kikki.K has 80 stores in Australia and Asia, including the Singapore flagship.

Karlsson says international expansion continues to be a strategic focus for the brand. It’s online store, already ships to regular customers in over 70 countries and whilst the brand is approaching 15 years, the team say it feels like they’re just getting started.

Swedish-born Australian Karlsson founded the retail business in 2001. It quickly gained popularity across Australia selling premium, designer stationery items, popular for gifts and home-offices.

Speaking about the employer ranking, CEO Russell Parker says the business’ strategy is focused on delivering a world class customer experience every time – “and they say the best way to do that is to have a team of people committed to and capable of doing that on instinct with passion”.

“What we’ve seen at kikki.K is that our team look for a lot of very similar things in their career. They want to do something they’re passionate about, they want to do something personally fulfilling, they want personal growth and they want to be surrounded by a great team that are equally as passionate about their job.

“At kikki.K we believe that our culture is the first of many reasons people want to be at kikki.K, and the fact that we have been able to attract and retain so many wonderfully talented individuals is undoubtedly critical to our strategy and operation,” said Parker.
