Gloria Jean’s Coffee will expand further internationally with its first target America’s tropical tourist mecca, Hawaii.
The expansion follows the brand’s acquisition by franchising powerhouse Retail Food Group (RFG).
Gloria Jean’s will open a new coffee house in Honolulu later this year as part of the major redevelopment of Waikiki’s Ala Moana Center.
The opening is due in early November and will feature new concepts and ideas, creating a unique coffee experience to redefine Gloria Jean’s in Hawaii.
An onsite coffee expert will advise guests on everything coffee related, from bean sourcing and roasting to the best brewing methods and the latest instore coffee accessories.
Brewing methods, such as the Kyoto cold drip method and the La Marzocco Strada – an espresso machine that allows for precise pressure control – will also be used.
The Gloria Jean’s coffee house will serve a range of made to order sandwiches and savoury treats, as well as artisan pastries, and desserts.
Master franchise partners, John and Chris Giovas, and Louis and Karolina Gjorsevski will help bring the new concept coffee house to life.
Having operated several successful Gloria Jean’s coffee houses in Australia, the four are well placed to introduce the coffee house in Hawaii. They expect to hire around 30 team members in Honolulu and plan to open up to 20 more Gloria Jean’s coffee houses over the next 10 years.
“We have been part of the Gloria Jean’s Coffees family for many years,” said John Giovas.
“We know the brand, we love the coffee, we are proud of the community, and we are excited to take Australian coffee culture to Hawaii.”
