In the heart of Shoppes at Four Seasons in Macau, a unique popup store is showcasing a little known but highly respected European luxury brand.
Moynat’s ‘Le Trunk Show’ takes centreplace in the T Galleria by DFS store accessible from the Shoppes at the Venetian Macau mall and the Four Seasons Hotel.

True to its tradition of travel, Moynat’s pop-up store features a giant airship, which landed on April 1 and will remain there until the end of August.
The introduction of Moynat at T Galleria by DFS, Macau, Shoppes at Four Seasons has enhanced the offering currently provided by the luxury department store, comprising an assortment of the world’s most loved luxury brands in fashion and accessories, beauty and fragrances, and watches and jewellery. The 180,000 sqft store provides curated collections sourced from around the world to elevate the traveller’s lifestyle.

“Moynat is an emblem of discreet and uncompromising luxury. Together, we share a rich heritage and love for travel. T Galleria by DFS is thrilled to introduce travelers to Macau to a range of unique handbags and travel items that will accompany them on their personal journeys wherever they might go,” said Isabelle Fevrier, senior VP of global merchandising – fashion with DFS Group.

Pauline Moynat, the world’s first female malletier, established Moynat in 1849.  During the great era of rail travel and the establishment of the French railway network, the House soon became known for its custom-made trunks and travel accessories and registered countless patents, especially for train luggage, including the first-ever malle coffre fort, which contained a secret drawer with a patented safety lock to secure precious belongings, and the malle camphrier, made of camphor wood to protect fur coats from moth damage.

Many Moynat creations began with a beautiful encounter, from Yannick Alleno to Pierre Hermé. The latest led to a collection designed for award-winning producer Pharrell Williams, which was inspired by a 1906 Moynat label featuring a train that was designed by artist Henri Rapin. The collection includes two Train Pochettes available in several color variations, each featuring textiles with railroad graphics and a toy train in Taurillon Gex leather applied using traditional marquetry techniques.

Pharrell Williams says of his collaboration with Moynat: “As a kid I played with a train track, and I was always inspired by the movie ‘The Harvey Girls’. The women in the movie carried these amazing bags while traveling on the train. The idea of combining trains and bags was almost too obvious.”

In addition to the Moynat pour Pharrell Williams collection, the Moynat pop-up store at T Galleria by DFS, Macau, Shoppes at Four Seasons is showcasing the House’s leather goods and accessories.
