Hong Kong apparel retailing shows solid growth

The Hong Kong apparel retailing market achieved compound annual growth of 14.4 per cent between 2010 and 2014, according to a newly released market analysis.
Revenues in 2014 totalled $4.4 billion in 2014, according to Apparel Retail in Hong Kong – a new market research report on companiesandmarkets.com.
However, the research house expects the market growth to decelerate with an anticipated CAGR of 11.2 per cent for the five-years from 2014 to 2019, which is expected to drive the industry to a value of $7.4 billion by the end of 2019.
The womenswear segment was the industry’s most lucrative in 2014, with total revenues of $2.4 billion, equivalent to 54.9 per cent of the industry’s overall value.
The research report is one of a string of reports analysing apparel retailing across Asia released this month.
