Benoy toasts Macau Galaxy Promenade
Benoy, the international architecture and interior design studio, has explained the concept behind the luxurious Macau Galaxy Promenade retail strip.
‘The Promenade’ is a shopping area featuring more than 200 luxury and lifestyle retailers in the Galaxy Macau integrated resort, which opened its doors at the end of May.
Adding 65,000 sqm to complete the retail development which is almost 1.5km in length, The Promenade loops Galaxy Macau complex.
Covered by 22,600 sqm of Italian marble, the ultra-luxurious interior has been designed to ensure the retail and hotel areas sit in harmony with each other.
“Tactile finishes, natural stone, patterned detailing, soft lighting and 5-Star amenities all contribute to the peaceful opulence and grandeur of The Promenade,” explains Benoy director Alan Wan.
Acoustic materials dampen and absorb noise, producing a relaxing and enchanting shopping experience.
Other notable design highlights include a double-height green wall and multi-storey glass curtain in the Jade Lobby, and the Pearl Lobby with its scenic lift that showcases generous skylights across The Promenade.
“Our design concept brings a hospitality mindset to the retail space at The Promenade. We have made a conscious decision to celebrate the entrances to the hotels and integrate their ambience into the shopping spaces. Shoppers are not just shoppers in this development, they are made to feel like guests,” says Wan.
“The lobbies bring in a wealth of natural light, giving our guests a pleasant, energetic and inviting ambience.”
Benoy says it believes The Promenade defines “a new level of luxury retail” in Macau attracting around 30 first-to-Macau designer and lifestyle brands including Alexander McQueen, Georg Jensen, Delvaux, Harry Winston, Jean-Paul Hevin, Maje, Moncler, Mulberry, Proenza Schouler, Roger Viver and Sandro. Visitors will also find flagship Macau shopping opportunities from brands like Burberry, Nike and DFS Beauty.
