Singapore’s ‘real’ retail sales slumped three per cent in June according to government data released Friday.
Compared with May, ‘real’ sales fell 3.9 per cent.
The official Singapore retail sales figure was an increase of 6.9 per cent year on year – but that includes an astonishing 85.2 per cent increase in car sales.
Sales in every other category – except department stores and supermarkets – fell year on year. Department stores improved by 1.9 per cent and supermarkets by 2.7 per cent.
Food and beverage sales dropped 5.1 per cent.
