H&M India to launch in Delhi

Swedish fast fashion chain H&M will open its first Indian store on October 2.

H&M India will launch with a two story, 25,000 sqft flagship at Select Citywalk mall in Saket.

India marks the 60th international market for the company, which is focusing its expansion during the next few years on China and India.

A second store will open inside Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj later this year.

H&M has been granted approval to operate single brand retail stores in India and reportedly plans a network of about 30 by the end of 2016 and about 50 by 2020.

“This is the best time to be in India, it is H&M’s 60th and highly anticipated market with so much potential in retail,” said Janne Einola, country manager, H&M India.

“We hope to exceed customer expectations with our varied range of inspiring fashion that lets them explore their personal style.”
