Cold Storage to anchor Marina One

Supermarket Cold Storage and gym chain Virgin Active will be anchor tenants of the new Marina One mixed use development in the planned Marina Bay financial district.

Foodcourt operator Koufu will operate a Cookhouse in the development pitched a “the destination to live, work and play in the Marina Bay financial district”.

The development, which incorporates office space, and 1042 apartments, will include 140,000 sqft of retail space, primarily targeting the residents and workers in the complex.

Cold Storage says its store will be the largest supermarket in the Marina Bay area when it opens.

Virgin Active will operate a 26,000 sqft gym across two storeys which will also include a climbing wall and lap pool.  

Other tenants on the first list of confirmed tenants are Japanese restaurant Teppei Syokudo and 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken.

The development is 60 per cent owned by Malaysian-based Khazanah nasional Berhard and 40 per cent by the Singapore Government investment business Temasek Holdings through their company M+S Pte Ltd.

COO Kemmy Tan says the company’s retail strategy is to focus on introducing new refreshing lifestyle and retail experiences which appeal to a sophisticated and cosmopolitan audience.
