El Toro to sell Argentinian beef online in Hong Kong

Argentine online butchery El Toro has opened in Hong Kong, the first retailer in the city to offer door to door delivery of Argentine premium chilled beef from grass fed cattle.
EI Toro Limited offers prime beef taken from cattle raised in La Pampa, one of the best known cattle producing regions in South America, where the animals feed entirely on natural grass. The startup is working in partnership with the supplier, which has more than 30 years’ experience in the cattle business in Argentina, according to one of the co-founders, Hernan Castro.
“Hong Kong customers are sophisticated and always look for high quality food.,” said Castro.
“We know that Argentina is famous for its excellent beef. That’s why we are here in Hong Kong to bridge the gap, bringing the finest beef from Argentina to meet the demand from discerning Hong Kong customers.”
Fellow co-founder Mercedes Landa, added: “Hong Kong has a very friendly business environment with very easy, simple business incorporation procedures. We will use the Hong Kong office as our headquarters in Asia, and looking ahead we are also studying the possibility of selling our high quality Argentine beef to local restaurants.”
Associate director-general of investment promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said Hong Kong, now renowned as the culinary capital of Asia, has a mature food market for overseas food companies.
“Together with its free-port status, well-developed transportation and logistics networks, Hong Kong is also an excellent platform for food trading and distributing companies to trade and promote their exciting food products in Asia.”
