Recognising retail excellence, the global industry event attracts entries from hundreds of retailers in more than 50 countries. Past winners include Primark, Marks & Spencer, Inditex, Starbucks, Lotte Shopping, Whole Foods, Jumia and Net-a-Porter.

There are nine categories in total, including new additions for 2016 such as the Rodney Fitch Award for Innovation and Creativity and the Responsible Retailer of the Year sponsored by Majid Al Futtaim.

The Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai will play host to the awards ceremony and gala dinner in Dubai on April 14, the closing day of the World Retail Congress. Entries for the awards close on February 2.

Inside Retail Asia’s sister site Inside Retail Australia is partnering with Monash Business School’s Australian Consumer, Retail and Services (ACRS) research unit to take a delegation of senior retail executives to the next Congress event in Dubai.

The three-day event, taking place from April 12-14, will see more than 1000 global retail executives come together to discuss the changing demands of contemporary consumers and the future of retail.
