Bao Bao Issey Miyake Singapore has opened its first standalone store in the city at Ion Orchard.
Located on the third level of the mall, the 441 sqft (41 sqm) store is designed to reflect the modern luxurious feel of the brand. It opened in time for the Christmas trade.
The stores stocks a full range of women’s bags and pouches, as well as men’s bags from the Sports Line series.
Issey Miyake describes its Bao Bao sub brand as a line of bags and pouches with the theme of “shapes made by chance”. They feature “a flexible functionality perfect for busy modern lifestyles”.
The brand was launched in 2000 and has since established a unique array of products through using “shapes born out of simple pieces and diverse materials”.
To mark the opening, two special edition bags will be sold exclusively at the store: the At Random Lucent tote ($660) and At Random Lucent flap ($460), both of which feature Bao Bao Issey Miyake’s signature triangles in Spring/Summer 2016 seasonal colours.
