Topping out has been celebrated for a major mixed-use complex in the centre of the commercial district of Xuzhou, China.

A 112,000 sqm high-end retail podium anchors two office towers, a Hyatt hotel and two serviced apartment towers at Suning Plaza, which sits above an underground MRT station in the city’s CBD. More than 350 stores in the podium will feature 800 international and domestic brands. Also included are the city’s first indoor ice-skating rink, an Imax cinema and an international swimming pool.

Over six levels, the podium features an open-air atrium that can be used as a performance space. An open landscaped sky garden wraps the development, and the F&B offering will overlook the largest parkland in the city when it opens later this year.

Benoy, a global company of architects, masterplanners, and designers, provided retail architecture, interior design and graphic design services on the project.
