Fossil Group will launch more than 100 connected devices this year, the company has announced at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

This follows its launch last year of one brand of wearables in 10 styles. This time it has ramped up to launch wearables for several brands.

“Bringing Fossil Q to market helped us identify additional opportunity, and based on the positive consumer response we are going big this year,” says Fossil Group chief strategy and digital officer Greg McKelvey. The new products will include activity trackers and smartwatches for many brands.

Misfit, the wearable technology brand Fossil Group acquired in November, will also launch innovative connected devices.

Working in both the fashion and tech industries, Fossil Group is positioned to produce a broad variety of connected products to appeal to both fashion and consumer electronics channels. This has enabled the group to add 20,000 distribution points, nearly doubling points of sale. Its brands now have more than 50,000 total points of sale, ranging from department stores to jewellery stores to big-box consumer electronics retailers and more. It already has a major presence in Asia with plans to expand its store network in Asia-Pacific.

Fossil and Misfit have also announced app upgrades, activity trackers, a smartwatch and other new wearable devices at the Las Vegas show.

Misfit GM Preston Moxcey and president/chief technology officer Sonny Vu will discuss the convergence of technology and fashion on the show’s Digital Health Summit panel on Friday.

Fossil Group products are sold in more than 150 countries.
