An eyelash styling studio has opened in the Central district of Hong Kong, an offshoot of a venture launched in Tokyo three years ago.
Xtreme Lashes is the brainchild of registered nurse Jo Mousselli and a synthetic eyelash extensions manufacturer. Signature products include the new Faux Mink Ellipse HD, which maximizes volume despite being lightweight, and is claimed to virtually eliminate the need to apply an eyeliner.
Xtreme Lashes the product are semi-permanent eyelash extensions, with single strands of synthetic lashes being applied one by one to the client’s natural lashes. Each strand is tapered at the tip with a thick base, and curled to replicate a natural lash.
Trained stylists take about 90 minutes to apply the extensions, usually from 70 to 120 lash for each eye. In painless, non-invasive procedure, the extensions are applied with a proprietary medical-grade adhesive that causes less discomfort than the stronger adhesives used in the industry. The natural look can last indefinitely with a 60-minute “re-lash” (touch-up) session every three to four weeks.
All stylists are certified after undergoing a comprehensive training program. Xtreme Lashes also provides support and training for health-and-beauty professionals. The lashes, crafted from hypoallergenic synthetic fibre, are not applied directly to client’s skin or eyelid, eliminating irritation and minimising the chance for skin reactions.
Clients have a comprehensive pre-application consultation during which their extensions are customised, and they can choose from a range of thicknesses, curvatures, lengths and colours.
Xtreme Lashes by Jo Mousselli has more than 20,000 trained stylists across 30 countries. It has been the exclusive provider of eyelash extensions for such events as the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Emmys and the Cannes Film Festival.
