Fish & Co @ Glasshouse closing doors

After nearly 14 years, the Fish & Co @ Glasshouse outlet in Singapore is closing its doors in June because of redevelopment works by Park Mall.

One of 15 Fish & Co outlets in the city, the Glasshouse has a nautical decor, features live music and is within a glass structure beside Park Mall. It seats 300 diners and has been host to company dinners, team-bonding sessions, closed-door events, wedding proposals, baby showers and more, according to a farewell note on its website (“We shed a tear as we write this,” begins the message).

Birthday parties were a speciality of the Glasshouse, especially those of students. According to the message, all the staff were on deck to “sabotage the birthday celebrant”.

“We remember those days, and have tonnes of Polaroids to remember the occasions. So before the Glasshouse closes for good, we would like to relive and recreate those memories with the public – memories of birthdays, gatherings, anniversaries or simply any happy occasion,” says the message.

Accordingly, the restaurant has lined up monthly activities leading up to the closure.

Established in 1998, Fish & Co is a casual, family restaurant chain serving fresh seafood in a pan – a dining experience inspired by the simple practices of Mediterranean fishermen. It has 14 surviving locations – at AMK Hub, Bugis+, Changi Airport Terminal 2, Clementi Mall, Downtown East, East Coast, Jurong Point, Nex Mall, Novena Square, Paragon, Seletar Mall, Sun Plaza, Tampines One, VivoCity and Waterway Point.

Fish & Co has its own newsletter, The O-Fish-ial Catch, and on Facebook it has scored more than 68,090 page likes.
