An Italian ski equipment brand has taken the unusual promotional step of opening a restaurant and lounge in China.
Nordica has set it up in Chongli, in the Hebei Province, which will host part of the Winter Olympics in 2022. The Nordica Lounge is next to a Nordica service shop close to mountain ski runs.
Designed by 5 Star Plus Retail Design, the Nordica Winter Olympics restaurant offers Italian style dining and drinks at any time of day.
“The Nordica Lounge is the place that connects ski fans and outdoor lovers with what matters most: family, fellowship and the mountain,” says Nordic’s MD in China, Remigio Brunelli.
Inspired by the brand’s visual identity, the color palette for the restaurant comprises red, greys, and black. Natural textures such as wood and stone are featured. A large window into the kitchen allows customers to watch the food being prepared.
Nordica Lounge’s opening coincided with the launch Thaiwoo, China’s largest ski resort, in Chongli. A high-speed train service will be introduced in a few years’ time to provide a one-hour link to Beijing.
An Austrian business, 5 Star Plus Retail Design has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Paris and Vienna, with a partner office in Urumqi.
