MPT Yangon flagship store opens

Myanmar Posts & Telecommunications (MPT) has opened a flagship store in the culture and business hub of Yangon.

Located on the corner of Bo Sun Pat St and Mahabandoola Rd, near Sule Pagoda, the new MPT Yangon stores is the first of more than 100  branded stores the company plans to open by the end of next month.

As well as offering more points of sale, the stores will offer face-to-face customer services such as replacing lost or damaged SIM cards for the company’s more than 18 million users. MPT has more than 80,000 points of sale in Myanmar where customers can buy its SIM cards, buy top-up credit, have queries answered and find out more about other MPT services and promotions.

Chief commercial officer Koichi Kawase says MPT has expanded its network and is now providing 3G services to 92 per cent of the nation’s population.

“We are increasing the number of over-the-counter services,” he says. “We understand the importance of offering face-to-face services for our users.”

Kawase says news on the progress of the upcoming stores will be detailed on the company’s Facebook page as well as on Line.

Ayeywarwaddy Region: Bogalay, Hinthada, Pathin, Phyarpone, Zalun.

Bago Region: Bago, Lapadan, Paukkhong, Pyay, Min Hla.

Chin State: Hakha.

Kachin State: Myitkyina, Pharkhant, Tanine.

Kaya State: Loikaw.

Kayin State: Hpa-an, Kawkareik, Kyarinseikkyi, Myawaddy.

Magwe Region: Chauk, Magwe, Pakuko, Taungdwingyi.

Mon State: Kyaikhto, Mawlamyaing, Mudon, Thanphyzayat.
