IngDan opens IoT experience centre

Chinese innovation and start-up platform IngDan has opened an experience centre in Hong Kong to introduce its Internet of Things (IoT) innovations and services to international entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Its online-to-offline services (O2O), hardware innovation, supply-chain development and related marketing strategies will be showcased at the IngDan IoT Experience Centre. Located at Cyberport, the 600 sqm centre features IoT consumer products, and aims to be a community for innovators and entrepreneurs to promote products and host workshops, events or forums.
“Hong Kong has a thriving startup scene and is being recognised as an innovation hub,” says IngDan (Hong Kong) GM Vivia Wang. “The city’s position as the gateway to the mainland market and the rest of the world offers a compelling reason for us to have a base here to achieve our long-term goal of making IngDan a global smart-device hub.”
IngDan plans to set up more than 20 similar experience centres around the world, including in Israel, and Silicon Valley in the US.
“Our Hong Kong centre aims to be a bridge for global entrepreneurs to the massive supply chain and innovation ecosystem in mainland China. It offers not just support for innovative start-ups in Hong Kong, but also connects them with suppliers and investors in an unprecedented smart-device ecosystem.”
IngDans network adds to Hong Kong’s status as a leading IoT hub in the region, says Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) associate director-general of investment promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang. “Hong Kong’s start-up ecosystem, and the IoT industry in particular, has been growing fast thanks to the city’s strong connectivity with the mainland market and manufacturing base.”
IngDan is a subsidiary of the Cogobuy Group, one of the largest eCommerce platforms for the corporate procurement of electronic components in China. It has formed a supply chain-based open ecosystem through strategic collaborations with such partners as Baidu, Intel, Microsoft and WeChat, and has helped more than 10,000 IoT start-up projects. Its network includes more than 6000 suppliers.
