Gift Flowers Singapore: Mother’s Day secrets

Most Singaporeans intend to spend between S$100 and S$200 on Mother’s Day gifts this year, with most shopping online and flowers the most popular choice, according to a survey by Gift Flowers Singapore.

When asked how much they would spend on the occasion, May 8 this year, none of the survey respondents admitted they would spend less than $20. Most (54 per cent) said they would spend between $100 and $200, 38 per cent between $20 and $100, and 8 per cent more than $200.

Sons will spend just as much on Mother’s Day as daughters.

Most popular gift for Mother’s Day?
Flowers are still the most popular gift (46 per cent of respondents), followed by taking their mother out for a meal (30 per cent), and jewellery and electronics (equally matched at 7 per cent).

How do people shop for Mother’s Day?
Nearly 77 per cent of respondents say they will buy gifts online, with 46 per cent saying they will spend between one and three hours shopping for Mother’s Day presents, 14 per cent will spend more than three hours and 30 per cent intend to spend one hour or less.
