Singtel Dash all-in-one mobile payment solution launched

Singtel has unveiled a new version of its popular mobile payments app, Singtel Dash, in conjunction with the launch of the Singtel Transit NFC SIM.

Singtel Dash is Singapore’s first all-in-one mobile payments solution – offering fast and secure transit payments and top-ups, in retail stores as well as for online payments and local and overseas money transfers.

“Everyone in Singapore can access Singtel Dash for their payments needs, regardless of their telco relationship or device,” the telco said in a statement.

The Singtel Transit NFC SIM effectively transforms NFC phones into EZ-link cards. Via the Singtel Dash app, customers can check and top up their EZ-link balances on the go.

Gan Siok Hoon, Singtel’s VP of mCommerce, says Singapore has the potential to be the next mobile payments hotspot with its pervasive mobile connectivity and 150 per cent smartphone penetration rate.

“Singaporeans should move forward with an efficient and trusted payments solution and Singtel Dash offers these capabilities.”

“Samsung’s participation in the NFC SIM is another avenue for us to enhance the Samsung ecosystem beyond hardware and innovation, to enrich the total mobile experience for consumers,” said Eugene Goh, VP, IT & mobile with Samsung Electronics Singapore.

In other services on Singtel Dash, customers can send money to friends and family in Indonesia, Philippines, India and China, access deals and rewards on the app and be notified if there is a promotion near them.

Singtel Dash is also teaming up with Prime Taxis with a progressive rollout. The taxi payment experience has been further enhanced where customers no longer need to enter the taxi number in order to complete the payment.

The Singtel Transit NFC SIM is available at Singtel retail stores. New and existing Singtel Dash customers can download the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
