Hong Kong icon Peak Galleria set for revamp

Hong Kong’s Peak Galleria mall is about to undergo extensive renovations.

More than 400 metres above sea level and covering about 12,500 sqm, the mall offers a panoramic view of Hong Kong’s skyline and Victoria Harbor. It has a range of specialty shops offering contemporary lifestyle designer products, art works and handicrafts, as well as authentic Hong Kong-style restaurants.

On the top level, the Green Terrace observation deck can be used for private parties, corporate events, product launches, wedding banquets and pet events.

Peak Galleria is run by Hang Lung Properties. After 22 years, the well-known Cafe Deco at The Peak is to close and move across the harbour in preparation for the renovations.

A spokesperson says the cafe was notified of the renovations six months ago, but after several months of negotiations has had its closure confirmed.

Its last day on The Peak will be July 24. It will reopen in September on the 20th floor of The One in Tsim Sha Tsui … offering views across the harbour of The Peak – on a clear day…
